This is why I will always love Mako
And this is why I will always believe that he is a Mary Sue.Reblogging for tags. Mako is textbook Mary Sue and I (~*INTERNET PSYCHOLOGY INCOMING*~) sincerely think it’s because he’s named after Mako, who ruled and was so great. You don’t want to torture or make things difficult for a character that’s named after your dead friend.
I just made myself sad.
Soooo basically someone tries to squee over a character they like and we reblog it with hate and calling him a Mary Sue?
Dude I don’t even care how you feel about Mako, that’s just rude to other fans.
Also, I may not be MAKO’S BIGGEST STAN over here but if a female character did something talented and brave and exceptional, and we all called her a Mary Sue for it, I cannot even imagine the wank. You don’t have to like Mako to accept that sometimes unpredictable shit happens in a fight. I really do not find it that unrealistic that someone finally got something over on him, or that it would be Mako.
Also also, to my whole dash: if you keep up this Mako-hate and general show-hate, I am going to make the WAFFIEST MOST SICKENING MAKORRA VID, AND I AM GOING TO POUR MY HEART INTO IT. DON’T TEST ME.
I just don’t like hate, okay.
It’s not hate, I’m just analyzing it a bit. Why did Mako have a huge moment of awesome and not Korra, the star of the show? I suppose you could call her air-bending her moment of awesome, but it didn’t feel that way after Mako basically pre-emptively one-upped her.
IDK. The hug-box culture of tumblr fandom makes it hard to discuss things critically when any sort of “hmm” about a character means you can’t tag it with that character’s name, or that you can’t discuss problems you have with a ship under the ship tag.
